Secondary Learning Support Teacher

Applications are invited from suitably qualified energetic and enthusiastic people with commitment to the ethos of a Maronite Catholic School for the positions of Secondary Learning Support.  This is a temporary full-time contract until the end of the 2018 school year.

The successful applicants will need to have the ability to implement and evaluate current initiatives of curriculum and standards of framework, demonstrate a high level of communication with staff, parents and students and a proficiency for everyday learning.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • A passion for teaching and commitment to raising the standard of achievement;
  • Secondary teaching qualifications and additional qualifications in Special Education;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • An ability to manage time with developed organisational skills;
  • Designing and implementing standard Personal Education Plans;
  • NESA accreditation and a current NSW Working with Children Check;
  • A willingness to support the College's Statement of Faith and school ethos;
  • To work as a member of a team and show professional flexibility in a growing school;
  • Able to communicate effectively with adults, parents and students;
  • Competent in the use of ICT and effective pedagogies;
  • Participate in case management and lead parent teacher meetings;
  • Identify, assess and organise support provisions for students with additional needs;
  • Team teach and collaborate with teachers across all KLAs
  • Develop differentiated resources
  • To appreciate the responsibility of the teacher as a role model
