Service Overview

Hillcrest Glebedale School is registered for 30 pupils and supports children with social, emotional, mental health difficulties (SEMH.) Working with small class sizes, we provide a differentiated curriculum and progress pupils through entry level functional skills and GCSE qualifications.

Job Summary and Duties

As the Secondary Maths Teacher, you will be working with the Head Teacher and be responsible for developing and improving the Maths skills of the students within the school. You will be managing the resources for the classroom whilst planning your lessons in advance to ensure they are meeting and exceeding the curriculum.

You will be creative when teaching Maths and think outside the box and adapt your lessons to suit your individual learners. You will encourage positive learning and reward student for good behaviours.

You will communicate with key stakeholders and update on the progress of the learners. You will ensure the teaching and learning of the Maths subject is highly effective and that all pupils achieve their maximum potential through on-going support.

You and the Hillcrest Glebedale School Team will share the same passion and vision for the school’s service which is delivered daily to Children and Young People with SEMH.

Your duties will include:

  • Planning, organising and delivering creative lessons
  • Behaviour Management
  • Reporting on Behaviour
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders

Key Skills Required

  • QTS qualified
  • Ideally you will have had previous experience in teaching mathematics within a specialist education setting
  • Knowledge of Online learning opportunities available
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Passionate about providing quality education care and support to young people
