The candidate
You will be responsible for leading Maths across the school and teaching secondary age pupils. You will need to have:
● A passion for learning and be an outstanding teacher
● An understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs of pupils and ways to support them
● QT or NQT status with a good honours subject degree,
● Recent experience of teaching Maths to students across the secondary age range
● Experience of subject leadership is desirable
Eko Pathways School
We have a fantastic opportunity for an innovative, creative and resilient Subject Leader in Maths in a unique special school in an ethnically diverse inner-city area.
Eko Pathways is a brand new purpose-built special school for children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, with a therapeutic approach. It has places for between 77 and 112 children and young people, catering for Year 1 to Year 11.
The school’s provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs is innovative and successful (Ofsted October 2019). Ofsted graded the school good overall and noted the school has high expectations for its pupils’ education and wants them to excel beyond their lessons. We believe that our pupils need to learn, grow and thrive to be successful regardless of their starting point.

As part of a high achieving multi academy trust, we offer a high quality personalised approach to developing all staff through coaching, mentoring and both internal and external training.
