The Secondary is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enhancing quality curriculum across all EH settings. 

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • To advocate for a clear reflection of the EH Vision, Mission and Values in all practical & operational procedures as well as pedagogy across EH settings 

  • To establish and enhance EtonHouse Secondary Schools as high quality learning environments 
  • To work closely with the Principals, Curriculum Coordinators and /or Supervisors to develop a team of exemplary pedagogues who will provide guidance and support for their own teaching teams 

  • To ensure that EH pedagogy is informed by (research based) educational best practice that reflects high quality pedagogy
  • To work with current and prospective teaching staff to support their construction of a respectful and powerful image of child / shared philosophy statement that is reflected in classroom practice and curriculum design as well as expectations about assessment and learning.
  • To support individual teachers and staff teams to understand and operationalize EH Policy Statements and their understanding of inquiry teaching.
  • To assist individual teachers and staff teams to ‘connect’ with research (local and international) and to support  individual practitioners as teacher researchers (making teaching and learning visible).
  • Make recommendations for teaching staff regarding professional development opportunities that is aligned with EH’s teaching philosophy.
  • Organise and conduct internal training sessions to teaching staff members on EH’s teaching philosophy.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and support to staff to implement the educational programme 
  • Assist teams or individuals in developing and documenting units of inquiry and individual student inquiries.
  • Make recommendations for the purchase of suitable resources to support the implementation of EH’s curriculum.
  • Identify resources that aid the implementation of EH’s curriculum
  • Contribute ideas for newsletters and articles which advocates the work undertaken by EH  
  • Support the Executive Director of Pedagogy with conference and workshop planning, development and implementation
