Al-Taqwa College is an independent, mixed, mainstream, Islamic all-through college with a sixth form in Truganina, Victoria. It has approximately 1,400 students enrolled and caters to pupils from primary to Year 12. 

Al-Taqwa College was founded in 1986 and is now the largest Islamic college in Victoria. It has three different campuses, with the other two called Olive Branch in Tarneit, and Sentul Campus, in Indonesia.

The school has a multi-sporting complex that includes 10 running tracks, five tennis and netball courts and a soccer field. There’s also a multi-purpose hall which is used for basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess and drama. The school is equipped with the latest technologies in its two science labs, IT room and library. There are also three art rooms and a home economics area so students can learn to cook.

Curriculum

The curriculum strives to have an Islamic ethos at its base. The school works hard to provide a stellar education at all levels, with Islamic studies at the centre. The junior school emphasises the importance of literacy and numeracy alongside the humanities, science, technology and health. For the later years, the core subjects are important within the curriculum and includes English, maths, science, Arabic, IT, Islamic studies, Qu’ran, P.E., art, food technology and horticulture.
