The International School of The Hague is a highly successful, popular, semi-public school for primary and secondary international education located in the beautiful city of The Hague in the Netherlands.  We have diversity in abundance, with our 650 primary students and 1250 secondary students comprising 99 nationalities and over 60 mother-tongue languages. The primary and the secondary school are united by a clear mission of child-centred learning.  The modern school campus is located in an attractive semi-rural site on the south side of the city. The primary school is an IPC school. The secondary school is an IB World School accredited by the CIS.

The International School of The Hague is part of a group of eight schools for both Dutch and international primary and secondary education in The Hague and Leiden: Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation.  The group consists of two other international schools. The principals of the primary and the secondary school of the International School of The Hague report directly to the Executive Director of the foundation.

THE POSITION

For the secondary school, we are looking for an experienced, dynamic, learning-focused school leader to inspire our continued drive for the highest quality of student learning.

The successful candidate will be:

and will have:

  • A successful track record in education, including at least five years of leadership experience at senior level in international schools
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Curriculum for secondary schools.
  • Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Readiness to learn Dutch and function within a Dutch context.
  • An innovative vision on ICT in the curriculum
  • Experience with and committed to “inclusive education” within an international school context
  • Experience with working with school budgets
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • A Master’s degree and teaching qualifications for secondary education
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Given the rich diversity in languages and cultures in our school, knowledge of other languages would be considered an asset.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the European Union.
