About Newton College

Newton College is an independent, co-educational international school located in Alicante, Spain. First established in 1991, the school offers a bilingual Spanish/English curriculum for its students, supported by an extensive range of modern teaching and recreational facilities. This includes numerous sports fields and arenas, modern classrooms and IT equipment, modern creative and performing arts areas, science labs, a specialist psychomotor classroom, all housed within modern school buildings. The curriculum at the school is varied and diverse. It primarily follows the British National Curriculum, particularly in its early years, with compulsory Spanish-language classes being introduced towards the end of nursery.

The primary stage introduces Valencian, as well as additional Spanish social studies, although the British curriculum still makes up the bulk of the school’s subjects. The secondary stage introduces German-language studies, and follows the IB Middle Years Programme. Later, elements of the Spanish national curriculum are incorporated, with students ultimately studying for the International Baccalaureate Diploma, an internationally-accredited pre-university qualification. The school offers an extended school day to pupils who prefer it, with a range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities on offer, intended to both aid student’s studies and expand their personal development.
