About the School

Located in the city of Hatyai in southern Thailand, Bloomsbury International School, Hatyai is a co-educational independent school.  Whilst most students are Thai, we do benefit from many different nationalities being represented. The school offers both day and boarding facilities for its pupils. Bloomsbury is focused on providing an English-style education for its pupils, and therefore follows the British National Curriculum from Key Stages 1-5.   Key Stage 4 pupils sit iGCSE examinations.  Our results have been steadily improving and we want to pride ourselves on the best results in Southern Thailand.  For example, this year we are expecting a 100% iGCSE pass rate.  This great cohort is to be our first set of A-Level students next year.

When pupils progress into Key Stage 5, they will study for the A-level qualification.  Prior to this, younger students are given the typical range of subjects for a British-style school, with additional instruction in Thai language and culture, as appropriate for the school’s setting. We are to become the foremost T4W school outside of the UK.  Owing to its recent founding, the school can boast of a wide range of modern recreational and teaching facilities.  Any new member of staff will be part of a tight-knit community within the school and will be fully supported by an experienced SLT determined to get the best out of every pupil.

We have an expanding school roll and with continuing pedagogical improvements we fully expect this to continue to grow.  We are a small school with average year group sizes of ten, this means that every student gets to make outstanding progress. We have recently appointed a world-class teaching and learning VP; due to start in August, therefore much CPD will be provided internally.  But we value CPD for all staff and want all staff to develop during their time with us. We know that the ability to progress as effective practitioners attracts the best staff and we do want staff to bring expertise with them that they will share with our staff also.  As a small school, we need everyone to lead and to be part of the team.
