Socrates Educa International School is located in Salou south of Barcelona, with potential to welcome up to 800 students, is inclusive and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18+. This is the first school to run with the Socrates Educa model, an innovative pedagogical system which is likely to be implemented in other new schools in the future.
It is a popular and happy English / Spanish / Catalan trilingual school, offering Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB) as well as the US High School Dual Diploma, with an international emphasis, and also Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum is based on the local curriculum but is influenced by teachers from around the world and taught mainly in English. We have former students in over 120 universities around the world.
We run a wide range of extra-curricular activities, community links and projects as well as educational/cultural events and visits an impressive annual university fair. Our sports, music and cultural events are a strong feature of life in the school.
We are growing and looking for Secondary teachers for the next academic year, starting in September 2024 with experience in IB. Combinations of subjects may be useful.
All successful candidates should be team players, innovative, creative, able to differentiate in the classroom, bring learning in their subject to life and be motivated by the opportunity to work in a multilingual environment. International experience is essential and IB experience is a plus. Being a tutor is also part of the role. Knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish / the Spanish curriculum is also useful.

Essential for all candidates:
Fluent in English, able to teach completely in authentic English.
Teachers of Science (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology), English A/B, Global Politics/Business, TOK, - teachers who love their subject and can inspire students of all abilities in the classroom. IB experience, possibly able to offer more than one subject.
Good ICT skills (familiar with Mac/ iPad, knowledge of educational apps).
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent/ IB qualifications
Desirable:
Secondary teacher for IB and Bachillerato / ESO, ages 12-18.
IB trained and experienced or prepared to undergo the training.
Very useful:
UCAS / D of E experience.
Familiarity with Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan.
