Founded in 1972 in the United Kingdom, the name Nord Anglia reflects the company’s beginnings in the north of England. NAE initially offered learning services such as English-as-a-foreign-language classes and grew during the 1980s by opening full-scale nurseries and kindergartens. In 1992, NAE opened its first international school, the British School of Warsaw. In the 2000s, the company began a strategic focus on premium international schools, with rapid growth in Asia, the Americas, China and across Europe and the Middle East. About Dover Court International School

Also established in 1972, Dover Court International School in Singapore is one of the leading inclusive British international schools in South East Asia.

The school caters to students from age 3 to age 18. The curriculum is based upon the UK EYFS framework, the National Curriculum for England, the IPC, IGCSE/GCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. The school is active in the local International School sports league and are extremely competitive across a number of sports. The school has an extensive programme of residential trips starting in Year 4 and continuing up into the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. All students are involved in a wide range of after school activities mainly run by teaching staff. About 10% of our students are supported by our integrated SEN unit.

The school is on a green 12 acre site about 20 minutes from the Singapore CBD and has specialist facilities including  libraries, ICT suites, The Link (makerspace), dance studio, swimming pool and sports hall. We recently opened a brand-new building to accommodate the increasing numbers of Secondary which boasts purpose-built Art, Drama, PE, Music and IT specialist spaces.

We are members of FOBISIA and CIS and will finalise CIS accreditation in November this year. We are an EDEXCEL and AQA exam centre and are authorised by the IBO to deliver the IB Diploma Programme. We are the only school in Singapore to offer ASDAN courses.

Staff are well supported with weekly CPD sessions run in-house and access to external training courses where they fit the school and personal development plans. There is a strong ethos of professional collegiality.

About the role

We’ll look to you to promote high expectations for our students, supporting the delivery of learning activities that are aligned to our school’s Secondary curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will work with a variety of teachers, either across subject areas, or within a specific department and be vital to supporting students and understanding their individual learning needs. You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning, discussion and support. You will be flexible and willing to play an active role in the life of the school, supporting with subject administrative work, examination invigilation and attending school educational visits, both locally and overseas.

About you

Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will bring a good working understanding of the English language, and evidence of success in education yourself.  Committed and creative, you will be reflective in your own abilities, keen to be a lifelong learner, and seek out new ideas and innovative methods to raise our students’ level of attainment.

A post only available for local appointment, you must meet visa-related restrictions for Singapore and either hold a Singaporean passport, be a Permanent Resident, or have the ability to work on an existing Dependants Pass.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Monday 6th January 2020. Interviews will be conducted at Dover Court International School shortly after the closing date or on early receipt of applications.
