A front office receptionist is required to be our welcoming face of the school in greeting visitors and responding to phone and email enquiries. The successful person will be able to manage the front office in a self-directed and efficient manner, paying attention to detail while remaining flexible. Familiarity with MS Office suite is essential and experience with BCE eMinerva programme would be advantageous. The position entails maintaining our school's website, portal and social media sites. Initially this position is two days a week but over time may increase in hours.


Our Lady Help of Christians is a small family-friendly school on the northside of Brisbane, close to the Gateway Motorway and airport. The community is supportive, friendly, and deeply embedded in the Catholic ethos. The school has beautiful grounds and has developed contemporary learning facilities and engaging play spaces. The staff have a range of youth and experience. We seek to use technology to its optimum in teaching and learning, and all our students have their own devices. We are inclusive of special learning needs and cultural differences, and live our motto: Faith, Courage and Action in the spirit of Mary MacKillop.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing January 2020

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   For 2020 School Year

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   2 days/wk- Thurs & Fri (14 hrs/wk) 8.00 am to 3:30pm

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 4 - $29.93 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
