Job overview

Construction is a growing team at Harrow College, running courses from Level 1 Multi-Skills, Plumbing and Electrical Installations to Level 3 in Plumbing and Electrical Installations (City and Guilds), and in addition we have a strong and growing Apprenticeship programme. The staff teams are experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.  The Construction Section has recently moved into a new building based on the Harrow Weald site, furnished with bespoke workshops and teaching rooms.  

Reporting to the Head of School for Health & Social Care and Construction, you would lead the development and management of provision in this section, including the Apprenticeship programme and potentially the future development of commercial courses and HNC and HND provision.  You would line manage academic and support staff within the Section and would teach on courses within Construction.

You should possess a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Plumbing, and an advanced level FE teaching qualification, and have recent teaching experience on Construction programmes.  Assessor qualifications would be advantageous. Together with your background of working in the Construction sector, you should have curriculum co-ordination and development experience and experience of managing or supervising a team.
