Salary Scale: Negotiable upon knowledge and experience - AAT Teacher Scale (M6 – UPS)

In support of our partnership with BCP and other Outreach Providers in the local area, and due to the retirement of the existing post holder, Tregonwell Academy are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and skilled practitioner who is looking for a rewarding role in learning support, as an Outreach Teacher. This post is initially being offered on a Fixed Term contract (in line with our current agreement with BCP), though there is the probable expectation that this would be extended into the 23/24 Academic Year.

The post will involve supporting staff in Primary and Secondary schools across a geographical area of BCP, to effectively manage pupils to achieve the best possible outcomes toward leading a successful adult life. This will include spending time in classrooms to complete observations and offer advice, modelling class and individual approaches, offering strategies and acting as a sounding-board for teachers and other colleagues, and working with schools (within a wider system of support) to lead individual, small group, local or regional training, as required. 

Working flexibly and creatively in the locality (being aware of, and working in partnership with, the local Teaching School Hub and other Training Providers), the Outreach Teacher will help support ensure highly-effective and appropriately targeted support, which is equitable to need and provides best value practice for Inclusion, from within the context of the BCP Graduated Response: https://www.fid.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/kb5/poole/fis/advice.page?id=oKYeuh972QE 

The Outreach Teacher will have a strong SEND/SEMH teaching experience across Key Stages, alongside a solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, proven experience in teaching and supporting others to extend the progress and wellbeing of pupils/students who have a range of SEMH; worked over a period of time with pupils who have ADHD, ADD, ODD and potentially a number of ACEs within a mainstream or specialist setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong moral duty to enable and empower others to ensure successes and have a secure and strong experience base supporting students/pupils within the frameworks we know to support SEMH (e.g. SPELL, PACE and UPR), and are able to apply these with authenticity and experience into the classroom, or within a training environment.
