SEMH Teacher of Science

Vision for Education is seeking a Science Teacher for an SEMH Special School located within Cheshire East. The ideal Science Teacher would be able to start immediately, although the school could wait for the right candidate. This position will be full time and on a long term supply basis.  The ideal Science Teacher will be required to teach General Science across both KS3 and KS4, up to and including GCSE. The ideal candidate does not have to possess SEN experience, however, must be dedicated and ready to commit fully to this rewarding role. You must be passionate about building relationships with pupils with primarily SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) difficulties who have previously struggled in a mainstream setting.  You should maintain high expectations regarding pupil behaviour, relationships, and progress.  

This school celebrates differences and strives to resolve situations with pupils in a sensitive manner. You will benefit from a brand new, state of the art science facility. 

To be considered for the position of Science Teacher you must:  

  • Have experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 Level   
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)  
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist staff  
  • Have a desire to teach, and build relationships with, pupils with SEMH needs

You must be eligible to work in the UK and meet Vision for Education's stringent safeguarding checks for this Teacher position. We will also require you to hold a current DBS certificate (Child Workforce only) and it be registered on the Online Update Service. If your DBS is not registered online or you do not hold a DBS under Child Workforce, Vision will assist in your application.
