About the Opportunity

We are searching for an inspirational Secondary Science Teacher to join our team of exceptional educators within our specialist academy who can unlock potential for pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues. The successful candidate will identify clear teaching objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to their specialist subject for the pupils being taught. We want you to set appropriate and demanding expectations for each pupil’s learning and motivation, set clear targets for pupils and build on their prior attainment, considering each pupil as an individual.

Creativity will drive your teaching to encourage and inspire our pupils. Innovative teaching methods are encouraged to keep our pupils engaged, generating and fuelling the pupils’ curiosity and sparking inquisitive questions through our holistic approach.

Our successful candidate will confidently produce detailed and targeted medium/long term plans focused on accelerated pupil progress in line with academy expectations.  Through constructive oral and written feedback, you will guide pupils to become resilient, resourceful and reflective learners. To achieve this, you must be able to engage with all stakeholders including pupils, parents/carers, multi-agency teams, all Peak Academy staff and other teachers and professionals throughout the White Horse Federation,

It’s vital that records are accurately kept. The information held within the school needs to support EHCPs, Personal Education Plans, funding reviews, and clearly demonstrate pupil progress including soft outcomes. All teachers are responsible for examination predictions and results for their subject area, participating in discussions of pupil targets and progress as well as suggesting improved methods and assist with forward planning.
