Cheadle Hulme High School
Required from September 2018
Hours: 37 hours per week term time only
Salary: Scale 6 (pro rata) Actual salary £20,229
The core purpose of the post is to support students with special educational needs who have significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties, such as those with Autism, ADHD or acute depression and anxiety disorders. We are committed to ensuring that students with SEMH have every opportunity to succeed within a supportive and caring school environment. We are seeking an experienced practitioner with experience and training in this area to provide specialist support and intervention to meet this rising need.
Cheadle Hulme High School is a hugely oversubscribed academy with a reputation locally, and further afield for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and determination to ensure that every child succeeds.
In the list of top secondary state schools, CHHS holds 25th position nationally for comprehensive schools. This is a fantastic achievement for students and staff and particularly for the Sixth Form, celebrating only its second set of A level results.
We were judged Outstanding in every single category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015. The 2016 results for CHHS put us in the top 5% of schools nationally (based on the 'Progress 8' performance measure), which is the highest rating in Stockport and shows CHHS outperforming many schools throughout the Greater Manchester region.
A training school for twelve years and a teaching school for a further five, CHHS is home to the Altius Alliance centre of excellence providing School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) for teachers of students aged 11-16. CHHS is the founder academy of the Laurus Trust, a new multi-academy trust in the North-West of England.
The vision of the Trust is for everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and work hard to achieve them. Our recent launch featured on national television and received extensive press coverage.
If you want to work in a highly ambitious and successful school and believe you have the vision and commitment to join our team, then we would like to hear from you.
