The White Hills Park Trust are looking to appoint a teacher to lead learning within Enhanced Resource Provision at Bramcote College. The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic, committed teacher with experience of working with young people with SEMH, either in a specialist or mainstream setting.

Bramcote College is a small, inclusive Secondary school that prides itself on supporting and enabling personalised pathways for all our young people with additional needs. The school is undergoing significant change as it is due to have a new building in September 2025.

In September 2021 Bramcote College was commissioned to develop a new SEMH Enhanced Provision for a small cohort of pupils from Bramcote College and local partners to support up to 8 young people who would benefit from a different provision and who are at risk of permanent exclusion and who have a range of SEMH needs and additional SEND.

Teaching functional skills in English and Maths is essential. Ideally candidates will be able to teach English or Maths to GCSE level or be prepared to deliver lessons with support from mainstream colleagues. We are interested to hear from candidates who could offer additional subjects, particularly computing or creative subjects that might ignite some of our young people’s interests and skills.

Bramcote College is a friendly, inclusive and multicultural place to work and study. We achieved a well-deserved Good judgement in 2017, and achievement is on a secure upward trend. Our students are well-behaved and motivated. We have excellent support from parents and the community, and a talented and positive staff team. We are ambitious for every student and provide high-quality pastoral care and support, as well as outstanding enrichment opportunities for our students and the local community. We are committed to excellent professional development for all. Continued school improvement is supported by membership of the White Hills Park Trust.

Our vision and values are based strongly around our school motto Work Hard. Be Well. Do Well. and as Ofsted noted during our most recent inspection, "Only the best is good enough".

The White Hills Park Trust comprises five successful schools across Nottinghamshire, three primary and two secondary schools (one of which includes a sixth form). We are shortly to be joined by a special school, and we expect that we will continue to grow.

We are a partnership of schools, united by shared ethos and values, working in deep collaboration to give all of our children the best possible start in life. Our mission is to provide the very best opportunities and outcomes for young people, and our staff work closely together to deliver high quality teaching and learning, share good practice, pool resources and participate in joint projects for the benefit of pupils.

Our schools retain their independence, each with their own leadership, management and distinct character. However, we have a shared ethos and common values and we believe that we are stronger together. The role of the Trust is to empower our schools and support them by unlocking the benefits of working together:

  • Making the most of our resources
  • Running our schools with maximum efficiency
  • Bringing about continual school improvement
  • Developing and supporting our workforce
  • Providing opportunities for pupils
  • Becoming a force for good in our community
  • Establishing effective governance and leadership

To arrange a visit or for further information regarding the position please contact Mary Kirby (Assistant Head/ SENCO) on 0115 9168900 or mary.kirby@whptrust.org

Applications for the post must be submitted by 10.00 am on Monday, 20th February 2023 via our online application form, which can be found at Vacancies (whptrust.org) or by clicking the ‘apply now’ link.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023

The White Hills Park Trust is a Pathfinder for the Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education and expects all leaders in the Trust to embody these values in their daily work. The Trust is an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and checks will be made with past employers.
