This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the college’s provision for learners with Special Educational Needs. The School of Personalised Learning provides specialist education and support for 175+ young people aged 16-25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities. Disabilities include physical and medical, communication and language as well as social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.
The postholder will:
- Lead and manage processes relating to Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), annual reviews, high needs funding and the recruitment/transition of students
- Ensure effective consultation with students, parents/carers and key professionals in completing these processes
- Lead financial claims for high needs funding and effectively collaborate with local authorities to ensure appropriate provision is identified and resourced in order to support student need
- Coordinate Individual Training Programmes (ITPs) for students with individualised learning programmes, in liaison with curriculum leaders.
This role will involve managing and working within a successful team in a fast paced and vibrant learning environment. We are seeking to employ a highly motivated individual who has relevant experience of leading high needs funding processes, ECHPs/annual reviews and has extensive knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice. The role will require some working over the summer months to meet high needs funding deadlines.
