The Role:

International School of Bergamo is seeking to appoint a SEN Coordinator, to coordinate and develop the special educational needs provision across the school. The successful candidate will need to be up to date with best practice in SEN provision and will need to hold a SEN qualification or be working towards it. 

The SEN coordinator will have strategic and operational oversight of the inclusion provision for all barriers to learning such as special needs, social and emotional needs, and ESL. He/she will work closely with the teaching staff to maintain the SEN register, develop schemes of work and lesson plans for pupils  with identified needs of SEN learners, and facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils, and by organising learning resources and the classroom-learning environment.

Candidate requirements:

  • University Degree in Special Education / Education related discipline, with additional qualifications relating to special educational needs.
  • English Mother Tongue
  • Hold EU passport or have already obtained the right to be employed in Italy.

The successful candidate will be expected to begin work at the end of August 2018, before which date a criminal records check will need to be completed as part of our child safeguarding policy.
