TLC is an independent day special school for children and young people with SEMH, ASD and associated learning and communication difficulties. It is part of Melrose Education limited.
Our nurturing, independent SEN secondary school have an opening for a SENCo to join our supportive, 'Good' (Ofsted 2022), committed and enthusiastic team as of Spring Term 2023. This position is for 3 days a week with the possibility of extending to 4 (includes some teaching responsibilities).

We are seeking to appoint a newly qualified or experienced SENCo that has the appropriate qualification or experience to join our team, or someone with leadership experience, willing to undertake the SENDCo qualification. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the SEND provision and will be an exemplary practitioner.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have previous experience or an exceptional understanding of teaching in secondary and/or SEND provision
• Have SEN experience and/or the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination
• Have an excellent understanding of the SEN Code of Practice
• Have both an excellent understanding of pupil progress and a willingness to embrace change
• Be open to new approaches to teaching and learning
• Be an excellent team player
