The Special Partnership Trust is looking to enhance the leadership across the Trust and appoint a SEN Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high achieving, aspirational Trust.

The Trust is interested to hear from SEN qualified professionals who have experience of leading an outstanding SEN school, leading and managing change and organisational development.

The Trust can be flexible on start date and will consider applicants who can start January 2022 or earlier.

About the role

The Special Partnership Trust, a Special Multi Academy Trust based across Cornwall and Devon, wishes to recruit a SEN Director to work with the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Leadership Team supporting the development and improvement of the quality of the SEN pupil offer across the Trust, and the South West.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the next phase of development of the Trust, bringing vision, enthusiasm, a depth of SEN knowledge and experience, and a commitment to enhancing outcomes for all pupils with SEND across all educational settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop strategy, initiate and manage positive change and will have a strong track record, at a senior level in delivering positive outcomes for all pupils.

The Special Partnership Trust has an unrivalled reputation for the quality of its work in SEND, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to have a real impact on pupil outcomes, organisational development of SEND practice across Cornwall, Devon and how the offer is enhanced through partnerships in the South West.

The Special Partnership Trust brings together five special schools and four area resource bases in Cornwall and Devon; Orchard Manor (Dawlish), Curnow (Redruth), Doubletrees (St. Austell), Nancealverne (Penzance) and Pencalenick (Truro).  Four area resource bases, working with Brannel and Budehaven secondary schools and Falmouth and Mount Charles primary schools. The Trust is also developing Free Schools in Bodmin (opening 2023) and Plymouth (opening 2024). The partnership is committed to developing support for the broader SEN community, so that there is a more equitable access to high quality specialist support irrespective of location.
