Are you an inspiring and skilled HLTA passionate about unlocking the potential of pupils with special

educational needs? Do you want to work in a warm, thriving school community where every child is known,

loved and encouraged to be the best they can be?

At Archbishop Sumner CofE Primary School, our Christian vision drives us to understand, encourage, inspire

and equip every child in our care. Rooted in our core values of Love, Hope, Integrity and Respect, we are

seeking an enthusiastic SEN HLTA to join our dedicated team.

Working primarily within our Learning Resource Base, you will play a central role in delivering tailored provision

for pupils with EHCPs and complex needs. Under the direction of our SENDCO, you will lead teaching, direct a

Teaching Assistant and plan learning activities that ensure our children flourish, build resilience and face the

future with hope.

Why join Archbishop Sumner?

● A Thriving Community: We are a welcoming, diverse church school family where every child is known

as an individual and nurtured to thrive.

● Inclusive & Ambitious: Pupils with SEND make great progress and are fully included in all aspects of

school life.

● A Second Home: Families describe our school as a second home, where visitors experience a deep

sense of belonging, warmth and pastoral care.

● Professional Growth: We invest in our staff with ongoing training, including Little Wandle Phonics and

Talk for Writing systems.

We are looking for someone who:

● Holds HLTA status (or equivalent) and brings experience supporting pupils with SEND/EHCPs.

● Can lead and evaluate dynamic teaching and learning activities.

● Is a confident leader who can direct and support team members in the Resource Base.

● Fully aligns with our Christian vision and models our school values.
