The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2024.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to support with the SEND provision for Horizon students and all SEND aspects of their provision, liaising with senior leaders as needed. The successful candidate will also work closely with the attached leadership for SEN to support a high standard of provision for learners with SEN across the school. This will include ensuring that staff, students and parents are informed about student SEN needs and appropriate strategies are implemented, communicated and reviewed for impact. You will also oversee, and ensure completion of PEP (Personalised Education Plans), for Looked After Children, liaising with year teams as needed.

Our opportunity base in Horizon offers a fully equipped environment for supporting students with a diagnosis of ASC, which includes specialist classrooms, social areas, sensory room, IT suite, its own playground and secure drop-off area for taxis and parents. Students also have access to all of the state of the art facilities that are available in the mainstream part of the school.

Our school is situated in Carshalton, 30 minutes from London Victoria by train and a short distance from Sutton, Merton, Croydon and Kingston.

You will be required to:

  • Inspire and support our students across the three Key Stages
  • Use a range of assessment strategies to provide targeted and directed feedback
  • Be inspired by reading and researching new pedagogy on learning and teaching
  • Be creative and reflective in the planning of lessons and schemes of works
  • Have the skills to form excellent working relationships with all individuals.
