Marden Lodge Primary School is seeking a skilled and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated and hardworking team on a 1 Year Fixed Term Contract. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils, supporting their individual needs and helping them to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Your opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the education and development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities, adapt materials, and provide one-to-one or small group interventions. They should be proactive, professional, and committed to supporting pupils' well-being, behaviour, and personal growth, both in and outside the classroom. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a willingness to engage in training and contribute to pupil progress are essential.

What we are looking for

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 or 3 NVQ Desirable but not essential 
  • Experience supporting children in education, particularly those with complex SEND needs
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour management techniques
  • Basic IT skills (advanced skills desirable)
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and follow instructions
  • Clear communicator who can explain tasks and engage children effectively
  • Skilled in maintaining high-quality records
  • Able to support personal care, administer medication, or deliver therapy programmes
  • Calm under pressure, flexible, and professional
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build appropriate relationships
  • Committed to safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Passionate about supporting children’s development and contributing to school life
  • Alignment with the school’s mission and GLF core values

The Details

Hours: 31.25 hrs per week, 38.6 weeks of the year 8.30am - 15:15pm Monday to Friday

Salary: GLF Associate 2 - Point 1 £22,918.66 to Point 16 £24,653 (dependent on experience) 

Actual Salary: £16,939.72 to £18,221.61 (dependent on experience)

About Marden Lodge Primary School

Welcome to Marden Lodge Primary School, part of GLF Schools. We are an all through primary school with the additional benefit of day care on site which includes full wrap around care, including breakfast and after school provision. The school is situated on a pleasant site on the outskirts of Caterham and integrates all phases of learning.
