Hillcrest Park School a DfE registered independent school require a SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team. Salary £24,373 - £35,971 per annum, depending on experience (plus £2,209 SEN allowance). Based near Chipping Norton the school is within a commutable distance of Chipping Camden, Bourton-on-the-water, Charlbury, Oxford, Banbury, Bicester and other surrounding towns and villages.

Park School is a DfE registered independent school that offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 7 – 18 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities. Park School provides a structured and supportive environment in order to meet the personal, academic and pastoral needs of all our pupils at each stage of their schooling.

As an experienced SEN Teacher, you will support pupils with a range of abilities across all Key Stages, ensuring the highest quality of education is delivered in line with the requirements of the national curriculum. The role will see the post holder design educational programmes of studies that will ensure the positive progression of our students is achieved, whilst also challenging academic boundaries in order to build independent skills. 

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, committed and flexible and have a passion for teaching students within an SEN environment. This position will require teaching across a range of subjects.

This position is offered on a permanent, full time basis, term time only, working 40 hours per week plus after school meetings.


Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties as SEN Teacher would include:

• Teaching across a varied range of subjects

• Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments

• Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets

• Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education

• Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings. 


Key Skills Required:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status

• Have a background of teaching a range of subjects at Primary or Lower Secondary level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level 

• Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum

• Be experienced or have an interest working within an SEN setting, supporting with challenging behaviour (SEMH/EBD)

• Effective communication skills with the ability to build ongoing positive relationships with the students
