Purpose of the Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
About North Bridge Enterprise College
Since opening in 2013, North Bridge Enterprise College has provided a safe, supportive environment for pupils aged 14-16 who have faced or are at risk of permanent exclusion due to challenging behaviours.
We specialise in re-engaging students through a personalised curriculum that inspires and challenges, preparing them for success beyond school.
Our dedicated team offers a broad range of academic and vocational courses, empowering students to build confidence and achieve their full potential in a nurturing, friendly setting.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support
Requirements
Proven experience teaching pupils with
complex needs and challenging behaviour
Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning.
Commitment to professional conduct,
safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

Pupils
We cater to pupils aged 14-16 years, both male and female, who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. The reasons for exclusion can vary, but they often stem from challenging behaviours that we are equipped to address.

Our fully qualified and experienced staff bring a diverse range of subject specialisms and training to our college. We offer vocational courses in areas such as Food Technology, Media, and Uniformed Services, and we are continually expanding our curriculum to align with the interests and needs of our pupils. At North Bridge Enterprise College, we are dedicated to providing a holistic educational experience that supports the growth and development of every student.

While our new specialist premises are being developed, we are currently based at the Eco Power Stadium. We provide a safe and nurturing learning environment designed to re-engage students in their education. We are committed to offering opportunities both in and beyond the traditional classroom.
We hold high expectations for all our young people. With the right environment, relationships, and support, we know every learner can thrive. Our goal is clear: to equip our young people with the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to make the greatest possible life choices post-16.
