We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and innovative SEN Teacher to join our Education Team.

You must be able to inspire and motivate students both in the classroom and in the development of their life skills.

Key Duties
•Plan, deliver and teach students across a range of curriculum subjects
•Devise, implement and review individual education and behaviour plans alongside other staff, communicating regularly with parents, carers, teaching and clinical staff to ensure consistency
•Positively contribute to the overall programme of learning for each student to ensure their progression
•Organise your classroom, resources and displays to provide a stimulating learning environment for students
•Safeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times

Key Skills
•Must hold a nationally recognised degree and relevant qualified teaching status (QTS)
•Ideally have proven experience of teaching in a Primary or Secondary capacity although strong NQTs will be considered
•Have some experience working within an SEN setting, ideally with ASD or a passion to learn
•Be aware and have full knowledge of recent changes to the national curriculum
•Have experience of planning, delivering and teaching lessons to a good or outstanding level

Located in the glorious Dorset countryside with 28 acres of land for play and relaxation, the school boasts many facilities such as a theatre, a sports hall, indoor and outdoor horse riding arenas, climbing wall, multiple safe play areas and a swimming pool. The school is part Cambian Group with locations throughout the UK and provide a range of education and residential care services to children with autism, complex needs, learning disabilities and social, emotional mental health difficulties.

The Forum School was deemed to be “an outstanding school” for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, as determined by Ofsted in their June 2006 report. Our students span the spectrum, from associated learning difficulty to High Functioning Autism / Asperger Syndrome. We offer a 38-52 week co-educational programme for students aged 7-19 years. Admission can take place at any time during the school year.

Students have full access to the national curriculum with teaching appropriately differentiated to meet the needs of our young people. The Forum draws upon a proven programme of Specialist Education, Specialist 24-hour Care and a wide range of Clinical and Therapeutic Inputs, including Speech & Language Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry and Psychology. Multi-disciplinary teams and high staff ratios ensure intensive individual support.

The Forum is located in the glorious Dorset countryside near the village of Shillingstone. We have 28 acres of land, providing areas for play and relaxation, ideal for students with ASD. The school has a full size riding stable, theatre and swimming pool.
