Interactive Base (IB) Key stage 5

New Bridge Learning Centre’s discrete Interactive Base provision is a consistent and sensory focused environment for students with a diagnosis of PMLD, CLDD and associated complex needs. Students enjoy a curriculum of all subjects and have full access to all the Learning Centre’s facilities. This supports the students to express their wants, needs and emotions in more appropriate ways.

The class teachers in these settings focus largely on EHCP outcomes and deliver the majority of subjects to students. Enrichment subjects like PE and Music are delivered by a specialist teacher. The students in these groups may have associated sensory sensitivities and require support from staff to engage in sensory diets to regulate their level of arousal and engagement.
