We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a real passion for supporting students with special educational needs, to shape our provision and deliver outstanding teaching and support. The role is a key part of our enhanced provision for students with SEND and will require you to work with other teachers in the department to deliver our curriculum of Humanities, English, Maths and Enrichment to small groups of KS3 students, and Curriculum Support lessons for KS4 students focussing on overlearning in GCSE English and/or Mathematics and coursework support.

The successful candidate will show they are able to carefully differentiate lesson materials to meet identified learning needs; place the importance of developing good relationships with students at the centre of their practice; be willing to engage in termly reviews for students with SEND and the assess, plan, do, review cycle; and be confident in teaching a range of group sizes, from individual tuition to classes of 12 students or more.

We are mindful of the competing demands people face in their lives so are happy to consider part-time applications.

The role is suitable for those looking to move into SEND specialist teaching, or those with more experience who are looking to take on additional responsibilities.

However, we do welcome applicants that are not yet a Qualified Teacher and whom are looking to take their first steps into the world of the teaching profession.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff.
