Come and join our school and make a difference to the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The Avenue is a day special school for pupils aged 2 – 19 with complex needs including those with significant health needs and Autism. We are a well- equipped and well-resourced school with small classes so teachers are able to deliver specific and tailored learning to students. It’s a great place to work with friendly, supportive colleagues, professional development opportunities and a good work-life balance, including PPA work from home days.
Due to expansion, we are looking for teachers with a genuine passion for working with students who have a range of SEND to join our staff.
The successful candidates will be energetic teachers with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and behaviour management strategies to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils with SEND
The role is suitable for teachers who have experience of working with pupils with SEND; ECTs and teachers currently working in mainstream settings looking to make a change. Experience working in a special school is not essential as training will be provided. The ability to form relationships with young people, reliability, resilience and a flexible approach are important.
To apply for a role with us, please visit the vacancy page of our website - www.avenue.reading.sch.uk - and fill in the forms that you’ll find in the Teacher recruitment section stating whether you are interested in full or part time.
All completed forms must be returned to recruitment@avenue.reading.sch.uk
