We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic,  bilingual English/ French, Special Education teacher for our primary school, who is a strong team player, capable of sharing and leading ideas in an exciting international environment.

  • The SEN teacher has a critical role to play in ensuring that children with      special educational needs and disabilities within a school receive the      full support they need
  • Supporting the identification of children with special educational needs.
  • Co-ordinating provision for children with SEN.
  • Liaising with parents of children with SEN.
  • Liaising with other providers, outside agencies, educational psychologists and external agencies.
  • Ensuring that the school keeps the records of all pupils with SEN up to date.

Students at Haut-Lac live and learn in a bilingual and multicultural environment. They are provided with a rich and varied dual-language academic and extra-curricular programme. Our aim is to give each student the opportunity to develop his/her full potential in the two working languages of the school - French and English.

The development of organisational skills is highlighted from an early age to enable students to meet the challenges of the demanding bilingual programme. The concept of intercultural awareness is consistently promoted and students are helped to realise the importance of effective communication as the key to local integration and global understanding.

We believe that a bilingual educational programme enhances cognitive development and encourages students to be more organised in their work, more imaginative in their thinking and more sensitive to the needs of others.

Families are encouraged to appreciate the fundamental importance of the continued promotion of their mother-tongue(s) and their native language culture in relation to their children’s personal and linguistic growth.

Our students are supported at all times to become increasingly more competent in the different languages to which they are exposed, allowing them to actively and confidently apply their skills and abilities within their everyday lives.

About Haut-Lac International Bilingual School - Praz Dagoud Campus

“Haut-Lac International Bilingual School, a co-educational day-school, was founded in 1993 and now welcomes 650 students representing over 40 nationalities on its three campus sites. Not only the expatriates living in the area, but also a considerable number of local Swiss families, appreciate the multicultural environment, the caring atmosphere and the individual attention that the school provides.

An experienced staff team of 110 full and part-time teachers delivers a rich and diverse curriculum in French and English.  This is based on an internally developed programme in the Primary school which focuses on Linked Learning, Bilingualism and Internationalism.  Secondary students follow the Middle Years and Diploma Programmes of the International Baccalaureate, with a wide choice of subjects taught in English and French. On leaving Haut-Lac, students go on to further studies at universities primarily in Europe, the UK and the USA.

The school’s situation on the north-eastern shores of Lake Geneva is conducive to the running of many extra-curricular and sporting activities ranging from skiing and sailing to football and tennis.

Parental involvement is welcomed and everyone within the school community is encouraged to work together to support the life and purpose of Haut-Lac.”
