Smart Teachers is recruiting for a caring and vibrant SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inspirational team in a specialist provision based in Barnet (NW7). This full time support role will be working with secondary age students who have various mental health needs and who, at this stage of their life, are better supported outside of mainstream education. This full time temporary contract is to run until the end of the academic year, and there is scope for this to become a permanent role.

About the Role

  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting secondary age students who have various mental health needs such as depression, psychosis and a range of other needs
  • Also supporting students with SEN such as ASD and EBD
  • Working with children who have been withdrawn from mainstream education for both long and short term periods
  • Temporary contract on offer with the scope for this role to become permanent
  • Daily rate of up to £85.00

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have proven experience working within UK schools
  • Have proven experience working with children with SEN or Mental Health needs
  • Qualified to a degree standard (desirable)
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
