SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant 

Driffield, East Yorkshire 

Full time - spring term - term time only 

We are looking for a resilient and hardworking Primary Teaching Assistant, with experience of working with Early Years, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 (EYFS/KS1/KS2) children for a friendly primary school in the Driffield area. 

The role:

This role is to deliver full time 1:2:1 support for 2 children. Each morning, you will support a child in year 1 with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and in the afternoons you will work with a child in year 4 with Autism (ASC) displaying challenging behaviour. Both children require academic and pastoral support. 

This warm and supportive school aim high and strive to deliver the best possible education for all pupils while maintaining a happy school where children and staff feel valued and supported.  

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a primary / nursery school setting - supporting children with Special Educational Needs 
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent 
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required
