Vision for Education are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with additional/high needs including SEMH. The role is based in a Specialist Creative College in Manchester and will be part time (Wednesdays and Thursdays).

The role

The desired SEN Teaching Assistant will be a positive, enthusiastic person who will be able to support students (Key Stage 4 and Post 16) with additional needs including SEMH within small groups. This may include working on a 1:1 basis to provide SEMH and pastoral support. The successful SEN Teaching assistant will be supporting students that have been referred to the College by their school or Local Authority, therefore you will need to be comfortable liaising with college staff and external agencies to report any issues or concerns when necessary and share appropriate information with external agencies involved in supporting the needs of the young person.  The role will be to start in July 2021 and continue in September.

The Specialist Creative College in Manchester has an alternative approach to education and supports addition/high needs routes to wellbeing and engagement. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be joining a team of teachers, SENCOs and Wellbeing Specialists to work together to support the needs of the young people.

Requirements

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the position of SEN Teaching Assistant are:

• Have a minimum of 6 weeks experience

• Have a desire to work in SEND

• Have a caring, positive and flexible attitude

• Be able to travel to Manchester
