Smart Teachers is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA to join a collaborative primary school in Haringey, from April 2017. The SEN Teaching Assistant position will involve working with a Year 3 pupil with Down syndrome on a 1:1 basis, whilst supporting other pupils in class. The experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA will become part of this friendly school from Easter on a full time long term contract, continuing in to the new academic year. The SEN TA will continue working with the same pupil from September 2017, to help build a progressive working relationship through continuity and familiarity.

About the Role

  • SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA
  • Working 1:1 with a pupil in Year 3 with Down syndrome
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Supporting other pupils in the Year 3 class, whilst working alongside the classroom teacher
  • Full time long term role starting from April 2017, continuing into the new academic year, September 2017
  • Daily rate from £65 up to £80

In order to be considered for this role, the SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have previous experience working with pupils who have special education needs
  • Have proven experience teaching in a UK-based classroom
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
