About the Role

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve more than they ever thought possible?

At Ashley Park School, we're looking for caring, resilient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our growing team. This is more than a support role. It's an opportunity to help students with additional needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while becoming part of a team that genuinely changes lives.

You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to create positive learning experiences, celebrate every success, and help students develop the skills they need for life beyond the classroom.

Whether you have previous SEN experience or are looking to start a rewarding career in specialist education, we'll provide the training, guidance, and support you need to succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students individually and in small groups to help them engage, learn, and achieve.

  • Building positive relationships that promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Working alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised support and learning activities.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

  • Supporting students' communication, social development, and life skills.

  • Preparing learning resources and adapting activities to meet individual needs.

  • Working collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure consistent support and progress.

  • Celebrating achievements and helping students reach their full potential.

About You

  • Is patient, compassionate, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

  • Builds positive relationships and inspires confidence in others.

  • Has a positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work.

  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families.

  • Is resilient, adaptable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

  • Wants to develop their skills and build a rewarding career in specialist education.

  • Previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential. If you have the right attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment to making a difference, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
