Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Headteacher who will support the Headteacher in leading North Birmingham Academy by joining the Schools successful Leadership Team during this exciting time of change and progress. You will also have responsibility for SEN coordination within the school.


The successful candidate will bring their leadership experience, operational and strategic abilities and extensive knowledge of pedagogical theory to the role. They will also be a skilled practitioner, modelling and understanding excellent classroom practice. They will have the ability to engage pupils with a complex range of SEND, including SEMH and a clear commitment to improving pupil outcomes.


Our pupils have often experienced significant life challenges and have unmet needs. Strong relationships and empathy are at the heart of everything we do. When pupils join us, they are welcomed by flexible and caring staff who understand that all behaviour is a form of communication and who will help them to develop emotional resilience.

North Birmingham Academy is a co-educational academy school based in Birmingham for students aged 11-19.
