Days Lane Primary School is a popular three form entry school with an inclusive, caring and stimulating learning environment. We believe in developing pupils with the skills to be lifelong learners through our broad, balanced and creative curriculum. The school is well-resourced and we are fortunate to have plenty of outdoor space for outdoor learning, including Forest School. 

We are looking to recruit a full time SENCo to join our highly motivated and friendly team. This role would suit an experienced SENCo, who has previously gained the NASENCo Award or a qualified teacher with substantial experience coordinating the teaching, learning and assessment of pupils with SEND. The successful candidate will be able to further develop their skills within an experienced and supportive team including an Inclusion manager.

The successful candidate must have a strategic overview of provision for pupils with SEND, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision through the use of agreed methodologies. Furthermore, the SENCo will contribute to the school's self-evaluation, particularly with respect to provision for pupils with SEN or a disability. The role requires the SENCo to work with early years providers, other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, and other external agencies

The successful candidate will: 

·      Be passionate about making inclusion a practical reality for all our pupils

·      Enjoy both leading and being part of a team

·      Be an effective manager of people, resources and time

·      Used research based approaches to improve the provision for pupils with SEND

·      Have the ability to work with families in a sensitive and positive way

·      Demonstrate a good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and its application and be able to show your understanding of the principles behind school improvement, including school improvement planning, monitoring and reviewing progress.
