Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Doncaster. The school is looking to add a SENCo to its progressive and supportive SEN Department ideally starting in January 2022.

The role will include coordinating the delivery of SEN/D provision across the whole school. You will be innovative and will lead the SEN provision of the whole school supporting all learners to achieve to the best of their abilities. You'll lead from the front and will manage a dedicated and multi-disciplined SEND team at the school.

“This Academy is proud to be rated Ofsted GOOD (April 2019) for the first time in its history!  This has been achieved by having dedicated and enthusiastic staff who are committed to giving our community an extraordinary educational experience. 

They are a vibrant Academy with over 1000 students on roll and benefitted from a new building which They serve a significantly deprived community with 42% of students being pupil premium and 38% being in the bottom 10% for deprivation. Despite these challenges, you will find Don Valley students to be polite and engaged with learning.

They are looking to appoint a SENCO/Teacher to join their academy in January 2022 on a full-time permanent basis. The role will involve strategic development of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEN pupil achievement and carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with academy policies, under the direction of the Principal."


The school is offering:

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQML and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as TLR or Leadership roles in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant SEN coordination qualification

• experience in delivering SEN/D coordination across the whole school supporting secondary school learners

• a love and passion for education.
