Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced SENCO to lead and develop our SEND provision and ensure that all learners receive the support they need to succeed.

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the strategic oversight of SEND across the school. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of a clear and effective graduated approach, ensuring that identification, support, and intervention are robust and impactful. You will work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for students with a wide range of additional needs.

You will play a central role in developing inclusive practice across the school, supporting colleagues to adapt teaching and ensuring that all learners - particularly those with complex needs - can access a high-quality education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing SEND provision across the school.

  • Overseeing identification, assessment, and intervention.

  • Ensuring high-quality teaching for students with SEND.

  • Working with external agencies and families to support students.

  • Monitoring progress and evaluating the impact of provision.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds (or is working towards) the SENCO qualification.

  • Has strong knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.

  • Can lead, support, and challenge colleagues effectively.

  • Is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

  • Builds strong relationships with students, families, and professionals.
