Are you experienced in the area of SEND and ready for your next career move? Do you want the chance to lead a talented team to have impact across a large school that is aspirational for all of its students? Are you innovative, organised and ambitious, keen to make a difference every day?
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher to lead our Support Faculty and to be the SENCO for this 11-18 1700+ mixed comprehensive school.
The SENCO will be responsible for reviewing and developing intervention strategies to support best practice in the classroom. The successful candidate will be someone who can inspire a team of LSAs and other professionals to make a positive difference to the lives of all students with SEND, providing them with the level of support and challenge that will see them achieve their full potential.
The Support Faculty is housed in specialist rooms with dedicated administrative support available. The SENCO will report directly to the Deputy Head Teacher. The role of SENCO offers the opportunity to work in a school with World Class status and which is a designated Teaching School. As such, for the right candidate we are able to offer the opportunity to develop and train others and to design courses to add to our growing list of Teaching School opportunities.

The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
