Job overview
Beaumont School wishes to recruit a well-qualified, self-motivated SEN Co-ordinator (preferably with NASENCO qualification) to join our highly successful school.
We have an excellent reputation in the local community for our work with students with Special Educational Needs and have for many years been the Physical Neurological Impairment designated school offering full access for wheelchair users.
The school has a large SEN team including SEN teachers, Teaching Assistants and SEN Assistants. Familiarity with the statutory requirement surrounding SEN would be advantageous. It is essential for us to appoint the right person to work with the students, parents and current team to motivate and ensure high standards.
If you are a flexible, enthusiastic team player with a proven track record of excellence we would be delighted to hear from you.
Early applications are encouraged as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.

About Beaumont School
Beaumont is an oversubscribed, mixed comprehensive school, with Academy status, of over 1500 students, including a sixth form of 486. It enjoys an excellent reputation and achieves the very highest levels of academic success across a broad and balanced curriculum, supported by excellent pastoral care. In 2014, Ofsted found Beaumont to be an outstanding school in all categories. The school receives strong support from parents and our local community and its staff are dedicated to ensuring that students reach their full potential and to creating a vibrant and inspirational environment for learning.
We are so proud of our students who undertook public exams in 2023 and the wonderful results they achieved. They have demonstrated great resilience to achieve outstanding grades at both A Level and GCSE, in spite of all the challenges of going through secondary education during a pandemic.
At KS4 there were hugely impressive results across the board, from the number of top grades achieved to the highest percentage of students gaining grade 4 or above in both English and Maths in the school’s history (92%). 42% of the results were at grades 9 - 7 and we achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.7.
Beaumont’s Sixth Form students did themselves proud yet again in 2023, reaping the fruits of all their hard work to gain outstanding results, including 76 A* grades at ‘A’ Level. At KS5, the A Level APS per entry was 39.8, meaning the average grade awarded was a B. Many have won places on some of the most competitive university courses in the land, including several who are heading to Oxbridge.
