An exciting opportunity to develop SEN Provision at Oasis Academy Arena, London

We are looking for an enthusiastic SENCO who has a real passion for education, who understands how to create an inspiring learning environment and provide rich, creative and stimulating opportunities for our students.

About the Academy
Oasis Academy Arena was opened as part of London’s Olympic Legacy in 2015, and is dedicated to helping young people within Croydon reach their potential. The Academy boasts state-of-the-art learning facilities within our brand new purpose-built building and close proximity to world-class sporting facilities and National Rail, Overground and Tramlines. With only year 7 students currently residing within the Academy, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow with the school and help shape it into the community-focussed educational environment we hope it to be. Forecast admissions are encouraging as we have had almost double our capacity in applications for 2016, and expect to reach 900 students by 2019.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be positive, passionate and enthusiastic with the ability to instil these qualities in our students. At Oasis we aim to recruit individuals who display the character and competence to drive our schools towards success, and accelerate achievement standards for all students alike.

 We would like you to:

  • Bring enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise in SEN
  • Already have or be willing to undertake the accredited SENCO qualification.
  • Have resilience and resourcefulness to help develop and co-ordinate SEN provision,
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and staff
  • Have an excellent awareness of how young children learn and progress, particularly those vulnerable to underachievement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEN provision, including rigorous data analysis.

In return for your hard work and dedication we will offer you:

  • A supportive environment where talents are valued and nurtured
  • High quality continuous professional development, with the chance to take on new responsibilities as the Academy grows · A dedicated and supportive Academy Council
  • Free membership to our on-site gymnasium
  • Yoga studio available to staff

Visits to the academy are encouraged. To arrange a tour and discussion with our Principal, Craig Griffiths, please contact Sarah Janes, Recruitment Manager on oclrecruitment@oasisuk.org
