Join Teenage Kicks
Teenage Kicks is a specialist independent school supporting young people aged 11–16 who benefit from a more personalised and flexible approach to education. Our ethos of Engagement, Progress, and Outcomes underpins everything we do.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive SENCO to lead and develop our SEND provision, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed—academically, socially, and emotionally.
This is a key role within the school, combining strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to supporting staff and students day to day.
Why Join Us?
A specialist setting where student engagement and well-being come first
Small class sizes, allowing for meaningful relationships and tailored support
A supportive and collaborative leadership team
Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth
A clear, values-driven approach focused on Engagement, Progress, and Outcomes
The Role
As SENCO at Teenage Kicks, you will:
Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision mapping
Identify pupil needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
Support and guide staff in delivering high-quality, inclusive practice
Liaise with external professionals, local authorities, and parents/carers
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
Provide flexible classroom support and cover across subjects where required
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Holds (or is working towards) the NASENCO qualification
Has strong experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs
Can lead SEND strategy and contribute to whole-school improvement
Is confident supporting staff and promoting best practice
Brings resilience, organisation, and a calm, consistent approach
Communicates effectively with staff, families, and external agencies
Is flexible and willing to step into classroom support when needed
What This Role Really Is
This isn’t a role where you sit on the edge of the classroom.
You’re right in the middle of it—shaping provision, supporting staff, and making sure no student slips through.
Some days that’s strategy.
Some days it’s stepping in and steadying the room.
If you’re comfortable in both, this will make sense.
