Opportunity for an exceptional person to join the founding staff at a brand-new secondary school

Whitelands Academy is a new secondary school in Bicester opened in September 2020 to year 7 initially and then growing each year. Our aim is quite simple: we want to provide the students with an unrivalled education where individuality is celebrated and potential realised.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional SENCo to achieve our vision and work together to create a genuinely exceptional school. Our SENCo will shape our Learning Support department, Resource Base and our whole-school approach to inclusion. We are looking to appoint a SENCo with sky-high expectations of what all children can achieve, regardless of barriers; someone who believes, as we do, that all children are entitled to access the full richness of a broad and often academic curriculum, and will thrive if given appropriate support to access and succeed in that curriculum.

We will consider candidates who have not worked previously as a SENCo if they have experience working successfully to support pupils with special education needs. The successful candidate will grow with our school: we will develop you, providing one-to-one support, coaching and access to an extensive training network.
