SENCo 

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive School, based in Norfolk.  The school is looking to add a SENCo to its progressive and supportive SEN Department, ideally starting in January 2022.

The role will include working a 23 hour week coordinating the delivery of SEN/D provision across the whole school. You will be innovative and will lead the SEN provision of the whole school supporting all learners to achieve to the best of their abilities. You'll lead from the front and will manage a dedicated and multi-disciplined SEN team at the school. 

"This Special Educational Needs (SEN) School and Residential home are part of the UK’s Largest, Independent Children’s services group.  The School specialises in communication and learning challenges associated with Autism.

The School and Homes are within a private, 30-acre Estate situated within Norfolk’s picturesque and tranquil countryside, close to the town of Banham.

The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each child’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. They provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable and understanding."

The school expects: 

  • A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • a relevant SEN coordination qualification 
  • Previous experience of working as a SENCo in an SEN/ASC environment would be essential, plus excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important
  • A love and passion for education
