Grey Court School opened its sixth form in September 2014 and our first cohort of Year 13 students achieved exceptional results and this has continued every year since, obtaining the same extremely high standard of results. The opportunities the MAT brings to staff and students alike at Grey Court are extensive and everyone involved is excited for the future.

A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for a high achieving SENCO to join our highly successful MAT.  We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and innovative leader to further drive forward the learning and teaching of SEN students at Grey Court School. The post holder will be head of the SEN department and will have responsibility for day to day running of SEN. This position provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead alongside the Director of Inclusion the next stage of development of the school’s provision for students with a range of Special Educational needs.

We offer you the opportunity to work in a successful and oversubscribed school in an outstanding environment, situated in the beautiful London Borough of Richmond. The school has a working ethos in which everyone is valued and resources and training are made available to enable you to carry out your role effectively. You will be working alongside a trusting and supportive team which has the learning and well-being of our young people at the heart of everything that we do.

The SENCO will be a member of our Middle Leadership Team and will be expected to attend the weekly head of department meetings. This is a full time position with a small percentage main stream teaching load in their subject area plus small group interventions.

To take directions and work alongside the Director of inclusion to ensure the smooth running of our Newman House(our dedicated listed building) in liaison with the Deputy SENCO and SEN operations manager. To ensure quality first teaching, support and interventions for all students on the SEN register. The post requires someone who is exceptionally well organised and efficient, is used to dealing with a diverse workload, and has excellent communications skills.

As a National Teaching School we value the continuous development of our teachers and associate staff. We offer significant CPD opportunities such as Masters in Teaching and Learning and the Outstanding Teacher Program amongst others. We have a vibrant and caring NQT program for newly qualified staff which is mindful of the changing demands of the NQT whilst also facilitating the growth of classroom craft.
