Job overview

SENCO Senior Teacher

MPS/UPS plus TLR2b + SEN

Permanent – 26 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust provides specialised education to young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). We are three special schools, a secure unit, a large countywide alternative provision and one of five teaching schools within East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement. Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

New Horizons, St Leonards-on-Sea, is seeking to appoint an innovative, enthusiastic and effective Senior Teacher with empathy towards children with SEN. Although it is not statutory within a special school to hold a NASENCO qualification, it is envisaged that the successful applicant will undergo the necessary training with support from the school to obtain this qualification. The successful candidate will be a strong team player and be committed to raising the standards in their area. You will also be a member of the School Senior Management Team. This is a rare opportunity to join the School and be part of our expanding team, which provides an outstanding service for pupils in the Hastings and surrounding area.

The successful candidate will be joining a school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment where your professional development is highly valued. The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust are also committed to professional development and have strong induction, NQT and unqualified teacher programmes.

We are looking for a start date for after Easter, April 2020 or May 2020, but we are willing to accommodate an earlier or later start date for the ideal candidate (subject to pre-employment checks).

We welcome visits to our school (during term time) and if you would like to see us or have an informal telephone discussion prior to submitting an application, please contact Simone Hopkins, Principal, at simone.hopkins@sabden.org.uk

For an application pack, please visit the vacancy section of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust here: http://www.sabden.org.uk/216/vacancies

Closing date for completed applications is by midday, Monday 24th February 2020

Please note CVs will not be accepted.
