As St Benedict’s Catholic High School plans its exciting move to a £33m campus, which is co-locating with our local Special school, this is a wonderful opportunity to shape SEND provision for our students, and to work collaboratively with highly skilled professionals in an inclusive school setting. The local special school has its own provision.
If you have a passion for achieving the best outcomes and shaping provision for students, and have experience of, or are considering a leadership position, this could be the job for you.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and talented teacher to join and lead our experienced team of specialist colleagues within the SEND department. We want a person who is passionate about supporting students and who is willing to lead and develop the vision, commitment and determination of the SEND Department to provide high quality provision for our students. This post includes liaising with a range of external agencies to support the students in our care, and ensuring that all statutory protocols around SEND assessment and funding are followed.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in this exciting new project. We can also offer you:
· Support and development in leadership and management skills
· Comprehensive CPD
· Support and funding to complete the SENCo qualification if necessary
· The opportunity to mentor students in a successful Teaching School Alliance
· For appropriately experienced applicants, a place on the school Senior Leadership Team
Our school is situated on the Cumbrian coast on the edge of the Lake District National Park and not as remote as you might imagine! It is an easy drive to work along some of the most scenic roads in the UK and living in Cumbria might be just the lifestyle change to suit you and your family.
St Benedict’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students. All applicants are subject to the requirements of the Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education guidelines. This will include checks with past employers and the need for the successful applicant to hold or undergo a suitable enhanced DBS disclosure.
