Riverston School is a small independent school with a strong inclusive ethos, with the majority of our students granted EHCPs from the various surrounding London Local Authorities. We have children of Nursery and Pre-School age and then from Year 7 up to Sixth Form. We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic full-time (5 days a week) Humanities teacher.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, child centred and well-presented Admin Assistant to assist in our busy SEND Office.

 

The Role

 

To provide consistently efficient first-class administrative support to the SEN Team in line with the school's vision and values. 

To keep and maintain all records relating to SEN through electronic systems and/or paper files and to be aware of legal requirements for retention of such papers. To organise the archiving and disposal of records as appropriate. 

To be responsible for all filing relating to the SEN documentation for individual students. 

To be responsible for chasing and receiving the incoming student files, checking all new information and sharing with the relevant staff.  Forwarding files when students move to a different provision.

To prepare documentation connected to Annual Reviews of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

To prepare paperwork for referrals to outside agencies (including EHCP needs assessments, safeguarding referrals and reports, health referrals etc). 

To prepare documentation for Examination Access Arrangements and ensure excellent record keeping of paperwork. 

To liaise with the Heads of Year/CP Officer and teachers on SEN related issues. 

To maintain telephone contact with parents as directed by SEN Team. 

To maintain information on the central school database pertaining to students SEN status and needs. 

To be responsible for all other duties as directed by the Director of SEN. 

Have an awareness of the SEND Code of Practice, January 2015. 

To supply Year Leaders with info as required, such as for referrals, prior to exclusions and similar. 

To maintain SEN diary and meet and greet visitors as necessary. 

To act as a point of contact for parents and outside agencies. 

Taking and producing confidential minutes for meetings as requested and making sure these are distributed promptly. 

Treat pupils and staff with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to professional position. 

Having regard to the need to safeguard pupils’ wellbeing in accordance with statutory requirements.

 

Salary range: According to experience

Riverston School is a mixed, specialist SEND independent school with Nursery, Senior School and Sixth Form departments situated in Lee, south-east London.

Riverston School was founded in 1926 and has been family-owned since 1956. The school is housed in four adjacent Victorian houses. Recent refurbishments and upgrades have delivered a coffee shop, a sixth-form area and a centre for textiles, food technology and skills for life.

They also have the opportunity to take part in junior sports leadership awards and athletic challenges such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
